Owning my own business has led me to some really unique opportunities and this was one of them! Two days prior to Jon and Kristin’s wedding I found out I would be photographing their ceremony at the United Sates Capitol.

Jon and Kristin’s wedding ceremony was held in the Office of the House of the Speaker. After the ceremony we went outside to take photos with their families on the terrace facing the Washington Monument.

As the sun set over the city the celebration continued with a rooftop reception across the street at Charlie Palmer Steak. I love this venue because it overlooks the twinkling lights of bustling DC with breathtaking views of the US Capitol and Washington Monument! Enjoy the photos below!

Correll and Erin: Washington DC Wedding

Correll and Erin have cute love story where they met online. Correll saw a photo of Erin running and commented “look at those quads” and the rest is history. You’ll see in the images below how physically fit they both are so I’d say it was the perfect match! In fact, Erin’s figure is so perfect she bought her wedding gown straight off the rack from David’s Bridal with no alterations….which is almost unheard of. We went to City Center in Washington DC for their portraits and as luck would have it, Correll’s tie and handkerchief matched perfectly for the occasion! The weather was overcast so you can image a photographer’s heart jumping for joy because I didn’t have to fight harsh sunlight for their portraits.  Their ceremony was held at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church; it was so beautiful as they said their personal vows to each other without any scripts. Following the ceremony the guests were invited to a sit down dinner at Bus Boys and Poets.
